Having said all that, i still appreciate what the developers have accomplished here and i will play Evoland 2 sometime in the future, which i've been told is a much more competent and better game. The game solely depends on its gimmick to carry you through to the end. It changes combat styles from action Zelda-like combat to turn based JRPG combat to Diablo hack n' slash style combat but it always remains simplistic and after the style change each time it becomes dull and boring very quickly, because it has absolutely no depth whatsoever. This for me was impressive to look at and i consider it a great idea for a game ! Unfortunately the problem here was the actual gameplay, which is painfully slow and simplistic. The game's main feature is that it starts as a 2D 8-bit game and gradually progresses (you unlock them in game) through the various gameplay mechanics and graphical styles of gaming until it reaches a 3D look with prerendered backgrounds. SMALL SPOILERS REGARDING GAMEPLAY MECHANICS - if you want to discover them on your own then go play the game and come back later to read this review ! :) Evoland is a relatively bad game with an impressive and fun gimmick, which in the end creates a balance of mediocrity. It's a shame this game didn't copy more of the parts that made those games good and instead plays like a greatest hits of their flaws. I think it's a nice idea, a journey through the different eras of RPGs. Since the pattern chosen is random your attempt can get ruined quickly by some bad luck and then you get booted to the main menu again. The final boss is both anti-climactic and a horrible fight with some attack patterns that are either completely undodgeable, or at least really hard to dodge. The weird thing is all open doors and collected items are saved, so why not just save the location at the boss door as well? I'm guessing this again is a nod to older RPGs where this was commonplace, but here it just feels like an unnecessary time-waster. The game has some iffy save-spots, where dying means you have to backtrack half of the dungeon. The gameplay itself isn't particularly good, hitboxes are (perhaps intentionally) awful and the movement feels clunky, especially when fighting skeletons who parry everything from the front, but since your sword only works in cardinal directions and they turn quite quickly these become a chore to fight. The issue is that many of the parts drag on for far too long (the quest that has you talk to all the npcs and the diablo part was where I really wanted them to get on with it), which causes them to feel less like a nod/parody to those games and more like a bad version of them. I can't imagine playing legit.1h 48m PlayedIt's a neat idea, progressing through rpg styles in appearance and to lesser extent gameplay, paired with a few jokes about common tropes. I hope this helps and thanks to everyone here for sharing the info! Having 512 of any item should be more than enough but if you want more just wait until the number drops below 500 and duplicate it once, which will bump it up to near 999. You can do this with several different items at once. This will also move all the items from the box to your inventory so the amount shown is the "true" amount. Now press to place the box in your inventory. Exit out of the storage box menu and press to pick it up. Now you need to recollect the items so that using them doesn't count multiple times. If you start with a different number, calculate it in the same manner.ĥ. You want to duplicate it into a total of 9 slots with the item (a total of 10 including the original). You want to calculate so you don't go over 999 as that will create 2 smaller stacks and you can end up with less items in the end. Each time you transfer, the number in each slot will double. You will obviously need empty slots for the duplicate to fill. I was able to duplicate from the hotbar to the inventory and vice versa.

Press and together and if you get the timing right the object should duplicate. EDIT - you can dupe any item in any store - thanks CheshireMulisha!ģ. Not all stores accept all items, so if the item is greyed out try another - Paulie's store, Best Brother, seems to have the widest range of the resources needed for building.

Take the item you want to duplicate to a store. Absolutely loving Persona 5 Strikers, hope the Switch version does well enough to convince Atlus to put. We also had this problem with the first Evoland and FFVI, which miraculously fixed itself. Ok so my roommate is having an issue where the sound isnt working. Just wanted to put a little more info here to clarify as it took me a few minutes to work out.ġ. Doesnt he know Im level 80 in Bug Catching. WereWolfNights 10:30am EVOLAND 2 (Legendary Edition) music but no sound bug.
